What was checked (versions, tests, code read)
On 22/10/2026: licence read in the official repository (README and GitHub licence), Downloads and Online demo pages of dolibarr.org, dolicloud.com prices, major release dates on GitHub, 95 core modules counted in Dolibarr 24.0.2 installed with Docker. DoliStore: public catalogue of 3,379 products (file from the defrance/dolistore-seller-info repository, state of 13/10/2026), prices analysed. Not tested: the hosted offers themselves.
Yes. Dolibarr is free software, released under the GPL version 3 or later. You can download it, install it and use it without paying, for as many users as you want. There is no paid edition of Dolibarr.
What can cost money is what surrounds it: where it runs, some add-on modules, and a professional’s help if you do not want to do everything yourself. Here is what and how much, checked on 22 October 2026.

The software: free
The GPL lets you use, study, modify and redistribute Dolibarr. In practice:
- Downloading is free. The Downloads page of dolibarr.org links to the stable versions (hosted on SourceForge), to the GitHub repository and to the DoliStore for add-on modules. The latest stable version is 24.0.2.
- All shipped modules are included. Dolibarr 24 has 95: third parties, quotes, orders, invoices, stock, shipments, double-entry accounting, projects, TakePOS point of sale, website… You enable the ones you need, at no extra cost.
- No user limit, and no “Pro” or “Enterprise” edition. That is the big difference with software whose free version is restricted.
What can cost money
1. Hosting
Dolibarr is a web application: it has to run somewhere.
- On your own machine or server: free, but you install it, update it and back it up. Our Docker and Ubuntu or Debian guides give the tested commands.
- At a web host: Dolibarr is a PHP application with a MySQL or MariaDB database, like a WordPress site. The price depends on the host.
- Online, ready to use: a provider installs and maintains Dolibarr for you. Example: DoliCloud, featured on dolibarr.org: €14 excl. VAT per user per month for the Basic offer, from €45 excl. VAT per month for Premium (prices of 22/10/2026).
2. DoliStore modules
The DoliStore is the official marketplace for add-on modules. We analysed its public catalogue (state of 13 October 2026):
- 2,098 active products, of which 213 are free (about 10%);
- for the 1,885 paid ones, the median price is €80; half are between €45 and €169 (from €2 to €2,100 at the extremes).
These are one-off purchases, not a mandatory subscription. Many companies need none: first check whether the 95 shipped modules already do what you are looking for.
3. A professional’s help
Installing, setting Dolibarr up for your trade, importing your data, training the team: you can do it yourself (documentation and forum are free) or pay an integrator. That is often where the real cost of a project lies, far more than in the software.

The “Online demo” page of dolibarr.org offers two options:
- A trial instance just for you, with full admin access, created in two clicks at a host. The page says the instances listed do not require a credit card. Trial lengths read on 22/10/2026: 30 days at DoliCloud, DoliPlace or DoliPlatform, 15 days at DoliZen, 7 days at BizBooster.
- The shared demo instance, usable straight away, without signing up. It is used by everyone and reset several times a month with the development version: perfect for looking around, not for your real data.

- Age: the official site shows “© 2003-2026”; the current GitHub repository exists since 2011.
- Pace: a new major version about every six months (23.0 on 5 March 2026, 24.0 on 20 August 2026), followed by maintenance releases.
- Community: 7,760 stars and 3,584 forks of the repository on GitHub on 22/10/2026.
