The sender (“From”) frame is drawn over the logo

In Dolibarr 24, on the Eratosthene and Proforma templates, the sender frame moves up over the logo when the La Poste address position is enabled.

Versions concerned
Dolibarr 24 · different behaviour in 23.0.4
What was checked
Reproduced on a fresh Dolibarr 24.0.0 Docker instance, with and without the option. Line of code compared on the 24.0.0 and 24.0.1 tags, on the 24.0 and development branches, and on 23.0.4.

The symptom is plain: you generate a PDF, and the frame containing your company name and address is drawn over the logo. Unreadable. Since the logo is at its normal size, you spend a long time looking at the image dimensions, where there is nothing to find.

What it is not

The first lead, the most natural one, is the logo height: in SetupPDF, Dolibarr lets you set a maximum height, and a logo that is too tall can indeed overflow.

On a 24.0.0 test instance, a wide logo was pushed to 50 mm and then 28 mm in height: the overflow does occur, but only at heights that nobody sets in practice. At a normal height, this is not the cause.

What it is

The trigger is a layout option: the position of the address block according to the French postal standard, often called the “La Poste position” (“Use french standard position (La Poste) for customer address position”). When it is enabled, the sender block is placed higher, and in version 24 it ends up in the logo area.

The cause lies in the pdf_eratosthene document template, at the point where the sender block is drawn. Up to 23, the vertical position was calculated with a fixed margin; in 24 it uses $this->marge_haute, which is much smaller. The block therefore moves up over the logo.

The Proforma template inherits from Eratosthene: this is why the problem also appears on proformas. The Einstein template, for its part, is not affected.

How this was verified

  • Reproduced on a fresh Dolibarr 24.0.0 Docker instance, with a wide logo (6:1 ratio).
  • Address position option enabled, normal logo height (20 mm): the frame sits on the logo.
  • Same logo, option disabled, height pushed to 45 mm: no overlap.
  • Line of code compared on the 24.0.0 and 24.0.1 tags, then on the 24.0 and development branches: identical everywhere. On 23.0.4, the value is indeed the old one.

The two ways out

Untick the option: immediate, without touching the code. In the PDF setup, disable the address position according to the postal standard. The sender block goes back to its place and the logo is readable again.

Wait for the next 24.0.x. The fix — one line — was proposed to the project and merged into the 24.0 branch on 8 September 2026 (contribution no. 40185, report no. 40184). It will ship in an upcoming maintenance release. If you have disabled the option, you have nothing to do: the file will only be of use to you on the day you want to enable it again.

The takeaway

When a PDF renders wrongly, the order of checks that saves time is: which template is actually used, and which other template it inherits from; then which layout options are enabled; and only after that the dimensions of your images. The intuitive order is the reverse, and it costs hours.
